Theoretically, I think this is interesting, but I am concerned about the practicality. How will you, in an unbiased way, identify these toxic leaders and get them (and/or their employees?) to participate in your survey/interview/questionnaire? Keep in mind that we will need to get a statistically significant sample (usually 75-150 participants). I agree with you that toxic leadership is a problem that impacts employees in significant ways, but we need to reshape it into a research problem. Let’s take a step back and get at this problem from another angle. What questions interest you? Could you brainstorm and/or share some of your research questions here? Then, let’s tackle what data you could gather to answer those questions.
